My Story

Life is messy—and art is messier. I have always had a compulsion to make, so I took it outside, to the yard and the fence. I believe "If you see something, make something."

Synthesis

The Yardies are a marriage of curves, color, and conservation, of painting and sculpture. They bring a joyful presence and year-round color and to the garden. Birds love to perch on them, too.

Vision

I would like to see more non-juried public displays of work by local artists. I am fortunate to have an eight-foot fence that is visible from the road. Art on The Fence in Honolulu is an informal outdoor display where local artists hang their work from a chain-link fence. That's the kind of access I believe artists need around Lewes.
